Mt. Lemmon Picnics are Favorites

Mexican Blue Jay

Mexican Blue Jay

On a recent picnic on Mt. Lemmon, Jeremiah Inn innkeepers, Bob and Beth, captured this photo of a Mexican Blue Jay, waiting on a nearby grill to savor any misplaced picnic items.  These fairly large birds are noisy, but friendly to everyone except other birds and little chipmunks who thought they might take part in the lunch we were savoring.  A number of Mexican Blue Jays perched overhead in the pine trees found at the milepost 11 Chihuahua Picnic Site.  A dropped tortilla chip was quickly crunched.  Bed and Breakfast guests can always borrow an ice chest and ice to take their lunch up Mt. Lemmon and meet some of these jays, too.
